This means the container, video, audio and subtitles are all compatible with the client. Please verify it meets the requirements below and submit a pull request! Requirements for Inclusion as a Recommended Client So I am balancing between the nvidea shield (as a easy solution as the working horse) or a motherboard with integrated cpu like the asrock J5005B.īut thanks very much, I like to watch the guys channel.Do you have a client that interfaces with Jellyfin and want to see it listed on the Clients page? I have also heard people talking about nuc’s but there are around the 200€ minimum, but the size is really nice compared to a mini itx case standing. But then I would also need a power supply, ram. The Asrock j5005B is around 105€ in Germany so that is a fairly cheap option. I have read that some people talk highly os the Asrock J5005B, and I do have a itx-mini case laying around. And I also have a nvidea GeForce 940 collecting dust, but the panda is so expensive, plus it can’t really seem to get it in Europe and if I buy it from outside of the EU then I would pay an additional 25% for import tax. I have been looking at the lattepande alpha with envious eyes. What you want requires a lot of power on the side of gpu / vpu. Maybe just go to the side of some humble x86. Everything probably comes down to the possibilities and configuration of apple TV and Plex. Plex probably will not care if resources are locally or remotely mounted. So I do not know what this piece of silicon can do and what it can not do.Īs for the rest, it seems possible. I am a new as one can get when it comes to Linux. But to save money, can I do the same process on a Apple TV 4K instead of a nvidea shield tv? Hm then I read some where that I can mount a smb drive on a nvidea shield tv and use the nvidea to transcode if the Ethernet can transfer faster than 100mbit. But the rock64 pro did not have the power to transcode fast enough for a somewhat good experience. I bought a rock64 pro 4gb with the intentions to stream 4K videos on my iPad or Apple TV or pc etc. It is possible to run OMV on my rock64 pro, and set it up as a smb server with a cat7 Ethernet cable to my beafy router, and then run Plex on my Apple TV 4K and mount the smb drive from my rock64 to my Apple TV? So that the Apple TV would do all the transcoding. I am sorry for this question, I did not know where to put the post since I don’t want to take any space for important questions.
